Dry brushing: the secret to smooth, toned, and light legs

Glow, Circulation, Firmness: Discover the Benefits of Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is a simple and natural way to smooth the skin and bring lightness back to your legs.

Here’s everything you need to know about its benefits and how to add it to your daily routine.

So, what is it exactly ?

Also known as body brushing, this ancient practice was used in early Asian civilizations to support overall wellness. It gently exfoliates the skin and helps boost microcirculation using a brush with natural bristles and circular movements on dry skin.

What are the benefits of dry brushing?

  • Removes dead skin cells and encourages cell renewal.
  • Prepares the skin for better absorption of skincare products.
  • Tones the skin and helps reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.
  • Stimulates blood flow and the lymphatic system.
  • Helps reduce water retention and the heavy-leg feeling.
  • Stimulates the body and boosts energy.
  • Promotes relaxation and helps reduce stress.

How to dry brush effectively

1. Start by stimulating lymphatic points

Before brushing, gently press on key lymph nodes to “open” the drainage pathways:

  • 10 gentle presses behind each ankle
  • 10 behind the knees
  • 10 in the groin area (each side)

This step helps prepare the body for optimal drainage.

2. Always brush from the bottom up

  • Start with the upper part of the leg (the thigh) to encourage circulation flow.
  • Then brush the lower leg (calf, ankle, foot), always brushing upward.
  • Finish by brushing the entire leg from bottom to top with light, energizing strokes.

Repeat each movement around ten times to properly stimulate circulation.

3. The right technique

  • Always brush on dry skin, using a dry brush with natural bristles.
  • Use circular movements going toward the heart.

4. After brushing:

Take a warm shower to rinse away dead skin cells, then finish with a cold rinse to activate blood and lymphatic flow. Next, apply a nourishing and toning oil like our BODY oil to hydrate, smooth, and improve skin elasticity.

How often should you dry brush?

You can repeat this ritual once or twice a day, depending on your skin and your preference. Some prefer doing it in the morning to boost energy, others enjoy it in the evening as a relaxing ritual.
