A as Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a star ingredient in anti-aging formulations. A molecule naturally present in our bodies, its production slows down from the age of 25. It is therefore worth including it in cosmetics to maintain skin elasticity and prevent the signs of aging.

Where to find it?

Hyaluronic acid can be found in certain magnesium-rich foods such as wholegrain cereals and legumes. Its scientific name is Sodium Hyaluronate, and today it is produced by bacterial bio-fermentation.

Two types of hyaluronic acid exist:
High molecular weight hyaluronic acid
Too thick to act deep down on the skin, it retains water on the epidermal surface, forming a protective veil against dehydration. It is therefore ideal for acting on fine lines and hydrating young skin.

Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid
It can penetrate deep into the skin and act in the layers of the epidermis to plump up the skin from the inside, thus acting on skin aging.

What are its cosmetic benefits?
- Anti-aging: Hyaluronic acid is a key molecule in anti-ageing skincare for its anti-wrinkle properties.
- Moisturizer: Hyaluronic Acid is considered one of the most powerful moisturizing molecules, helping to maintain a high level of skin hydration.
- Skin elasticity: it also helps improve skin elasticity.
